First Aid at Work Refresher – 2 Day Course
The First Aid at Work Refresher (FAW Requalification) course is designed for learners who already hold a valid First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate and need to renew it before expiry. Course is fully accredited by FAIB. This 2 day refresher course updates essential first aid knowledge and reinforces practical skills, ensuring first aiders remain confident, competent, and compliant in the workplace.
This course meets HSE requirements and supports employers in maintaining effective first aid provision under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
The course is delivered by experienced First Aid instructors, with real life experience of delivering First Aid

Duration: 2 days
Certification: Valid for 3 years (FAW certificate renewed)
Delivery: On-site workplace training or group training options available
Course Content
During the course, learners will gain the skills and confidence to respond to a wide range of workplace first aid emergencies, including when a casualty:
- Is unresponsive and not breathing, including the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Is having a heart attack, including the administration of aspirin
- Is experiencing an angina attack
- Is choking
- Is bleeding, including life-threatening bleeding and the use of haemostatic dressings, wound packing, and tourniquets
- Is suffering from shock or internal bleeding
- Has hypothermia, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke
- Is feeling faint
- Has been poisoned
- Has sustained a head injury
- Has an injury to a bone, muscle, or joint, including spinal injuries
- Is having a seizure
- Is having a stroke
- Is experiencing an asthma attack
- Is having a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Is experiencing a diabetic emergency
